Former Park principal files for 833 school board
Woodbury Minnesota 8420 City Centre Drive 55125

Walt Lyszak of Cottage Grove, retired Park High School principal, has filed to run for the School District 833 School Board.

Four, four-year terms are up for election this fall -- seats currently held by Denise Kapler, Marsha Adou, Tracy Brunnette and Ellen Ayers.

Adou, Brunnette and Kapler have filed for re-election. Ayers said Wednesday, Sept. 2, that she had not made up her mind on running for a second term.

Prior to Lyszak's retirement in 2007, he was placed on administrative leave for participating in a conversation that included inappropriate comments regarding candidates for the Park High School principal position. Before the incident, Lyszak had been notified by district officials that if he didn't retire, he would be moved to an assistant principal position at Lake Junior High School.

The election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Filing for the board, which can be done at the District Service Center in Cottage Grove, closes on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
