Edina Realty Foundation awards grant
The Edina Realty Foundation, which supports homeless-related causes throughout Minnesota, western Wisconsin and Fargo, N.D., has awarded a $1,250 grant to the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf.
A large portion of the grant money came from the Realtors of Edina Realty's Woodbury office at 520 Commons Drive, as well as from Edina Realty itself.
Edina Realty agents and employees also hold events during the year to help raise additional contributions.
The Christian Cupboard is a non-profit organization which provides food and other basic need items to those living in Woodbury, Oakdale, Landfall, and South Maplewood (south of Stillwater Road). The Christian Cupboard also collects and distributes gifts during the Christmas holiday to those in need.
"Our primary business is helping people buy and sell their homes. But there are many people in our community that are not as fortunate," said Barbara Peterson, Edina Realty Woodbury office foundation representative.
"We believe it's our responsibility to help people for whom housing is a major issue in their lives, and we are proud to donate both our time and our money to these worthy organizations."
The Edina Realty Foundation, also a non-profit organization, was created in 1996 to support organizations that assist homeless children and families in the market in which Edina Realty does business.
