East Ridge wrestling: Turkey Trek 5K raises money for food shelf
Woodbury Minnesota 8420 City Centre Drive 55125

A number of area runners started out their Thanksgiving by burning some calories before their big meal.

The East Ridge wrestling program hosted its annual Turkey Trek 5K at Colby Lake in Woodbury again this year.

The 5-kilometer run started at 8:15 a.m. just after the Kids Fun Run, which began at 8 a.m. Local food shelf, Valley Outreach in Stillwater received $5 from each runner. Every $5 donated results in $50 worth of food purchased.

Nate Tigges was the winner of the men’s 5-kilometer run with a time of 19 minutes, 40 seconds. Nancy Daubenberger won the women’s 5K with a time of 24:52. Winners of the Fun Run were Jake Toilison with a time of 4:16

Georgia Holt, with a time of 4:28.
