East Ridge volleyball: Raptors earn pair of flawless wins; 12-7 overall

The East Ridge volleyball team defeated Park on Tuesday night and Hastings on Thursday night to end the week without dropping a game.

To start the week, East Ridge defeated Suburban East Conference opponent Park 3-0 in Cottage Grove on Tuesday night.

The Raptors (12-7; 5-1 SEC) won all three games against the Wolfpack (6-14; 0-6 SEC) while serving for 15 aces as a team. East Ridge junior Maddie Christenson led the charge with five aces. Senior Margaret Eggert led East Ridge with 16 kills. Eggert also recorded seven digs, bettered only by sophomore Savannah Lipps who led the team with 15.

On Thursday night, East Ridge hosted fellow Suburban East Conference member Hastings, and swept the Raiders (5-16; 0-6 SEC) with scores of 25-16, 25-11 and 25-12.

Lipps again led the Raptors in digs with 13, while Christenson, Eggert and junior Makayla Sauro each had eight. Eggert also led the team with 16 kills.

East Ridge is now third in the Suburban East Conference standings, behind first-place Cretin-Derham Hall and Stillwater, who are both 6-0 in the SEC.

The Raptors traveled to Roseville Tuesday night after the Bulletin went to press. Next, the Raptors play host to rival Woodbury on Thursday at The Perch.
