East Ridge softball: Anderson, Raptors beat up Bears 10-0
The East Ridge Raptors softball team continued to try and scratch its way back to .500 last week.
East Ridge (5-7; 4-6 SEC) extended its win streak to four games with the 10-run win over White Bear Lake. The Raptors compiled eight hits, including four doubles and a home run, in the win over the Bears (1-9; 1-9 SEC).
Junior Makaela Egan led the Raptors’ offense in the victory, going 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and five RBIs. In addition, senior Tori Ostman went 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBIs. East Ridge senior pitcher Michaela Anderson threw a complete game, 1-hitter in the win, striking out 10.
East Ridge’s bats went cold, however, against Non. 4-ranked Forest Lake (6-0; 6-0 SEC). The Raptors mustered just five hits in the defeat.
Anderson took the tough-luck loss in the game, going seven innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, while striking out two.
On Saturday, Totino-Grace outhit the Raptors en route to a second-straight loss for East Ridge. Senior Kelsey Ihns was dealt the loss in the pitcher’s circle, going six innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits and three walks, while striking out five. East Ridge senior Alison Tarara was 2-for-3 with an RBI and sophomore Jessica Anderson was 1-for-1 with two RBIs in the loss.
