Huerta signed to play football for Concordia University of St. Paul, Bergloff will play soccer for St. Cloud State and Roese will run for the University of Minnesota track and field team.

Huerta, a 5-foot, 10-inch linebacker, was named All-Suburban East Conference and set the Raptors' sack records for single-game, single-season and career as a senior. Huerta, who will join his older brother Val at Concordia, also holds records in the squat and bench press at East Ridge. He plans on majoring in business at Concordia and intends to pursue graduate school.

"Chago is a good defensive player that we expect to fully develop," said Concordia head coach Ryan Williams. "He has all the physical and personal qualities to be good in our program."

Defensively, the Golden Bears added 12 linebackers, 10 defensive backs and four defensive linemen.

"The strength of our defensive class is in our linebacking core," Williams said. "We signed many on the inside and outside that are physical, fast and athletic. Some of these young linebackers will have an opportunity to play and compete early in their careers, as well as provide talent into the future."

Since moving to NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun (NSIC) in 1999, the Golden Bears have captured two league championships and appeared in three Mineral Water Bowls.

"I'm excited that our program added young men that are not only talented in football but also have a true character and desire to be a Concordia University Golden Bear," Williams said. "We are just as excited to have them in our program."

Bergloff, a longtime starter at attacker for East Ridge, will join a St. Cloud State women's soccer team that finished their NSIC regular season last year with a seventh place finish in the conference. The Huskies finished the regular season with a record of 9-7-2 overall, 8-6-1 in the NSIC.

With one track and field season left to go, Roese -- the defending state champion in the 400-meter dash -- chose to join the eighth-ranked University of Minnesota men's track and field program.

Roese, who also earned all-state in cross country, won the state championship in the 400-meter dash and had a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash last June at the 2012 Minnesota State High School League State Track and Field meet, earning all-state in both events. His time of 47.79 seconds in the 400 was within .2 seconds of tying the all-time state meet record of 47.59.

The Gophers signed nine student-athletes to national letters of intent. The newest crop of Gophers are Roese, Bryan Bjerk, Jordan Charles, Eric Colvin, Wayde Hall, Bradley Johnson, Charles Lawrence, Luca Weiland and Bradley Woodford.
