East Ridge High School: Five Raptors make it official

Five East Ridge student-athletes made it official recently — they will be taking their talents to the next level next year.

East Ridge seniors Jenna Griffith, Samantha Hammer, Ryan Keenan, Luke Ringhofer and Meredith Ubel all signed National Letters of Intent to play Div. 1 college sports in a ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at East Ridge High School.

Griffith signed to play lacrosse at Wingate University in North Carolina. Hammer also signed to play lacrosse — for Adam State University in Alamosa, Colo. Keenan signed to play basketball at Pepperdine University in California. Ringhofer signed to play baseball for South Dakota State University. Ubel signed to swim for the University of North Dakota. 

Nov. 13 was the first day of the regular signing period for students to sign a national letters of intent. Fans, friends and family of the five athletes gathered at East Ridge High School the morning of Nov. 20 to celebrate the athletes’ accomplishments.
