Cowley, an All-Conference golfer for the Raptors last season, will be a senior at East Ridge this year.

The boys team from Indian Hills Golf Club cruised to an 11-stroke victory, while the girls from Detroit Country Club won by nine strokes on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Teams were comprised of up to four players per team and the top three scores in the boys competition counted towards the team total, while the top two scores for the girls counted towards their team total.

Cowley, who helped East Ridge finish second in the Suburban East Conference and second at the Section 3AAA championship tournament, along with teammate Patrick Conway played a big part in Indian Hills' big lead after the opening round, but it was Indian Hills' Danny Hoban that took home medalist honors as the top individual performer shooting a 72, 74--146. Michael Pitcher also contributed to the victory as well as the team finished at 31-over par 451.

Billy Seitz, Derek Farrell, Dylan Kolquist and Matt Mellin made up the team from Ridgeview Country Club, finishing in second place at 42-over par 462.

In the girls division, Detroit Country Club went into Saturday's final round with a five-stroke lead and walked away with an 11-stroke victory after another strong performance by Kate Smith and Sydney Busker who finished at 32-over par 316. Smith earned medalist honors for the girls shooting 74,74--148.

The Rum River Hills squad of Sierra Langlie, Hailey Tollette and Ally Rogers finished in second place at 41-over par 325.
