Fifth-ranked Eastview found two second-half goals Saturday to beat the East Ridge girls soccer team 2-0 in Woodbury.

It's the third consecutive loss for the Raptors (1-5-1, 0-3 SEC), who have endured a rash of injuries and illness. East Ridge head coach Mark Abboud said six players had flu-like symptoms and three others out with injuries.

Eastview's Kellie McGahn scored at the 46-minute mark with a left-footed strike from a sharp angle 20 yards out from the left side of the 18-yard box.

After falling behind Abboud pushed the attack and the Lightning went up 2-0 on a counter attack goal from Melisse Chasse. Chasse knocked a ball in from 8 yards out on a rebound with 5 minutes, 15 seconds left in the game.

"Our big thing is we've been soft on defending set pieces and we put a lot of work in this week on defending corner kicks, try to plug that hole," Abboud said.

The Raptors did not allow a goal on a set piece against Eastview.

Stillwater handed East Ridge a 3-0 loss Tuesday in Stillwater.

The Ponies took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but Abboud and the team felt confident about the second half.

"I and along with my coaching staff and the players went into halftime really believing that we're going to come back and take it to them in the second half," Abboud said.

Instead Stillwater pumped in two more goals in the second half to salt the game away.

East Ridge will face White Bear Lake Thursday in White Bear Lake.
