East Ridge girls hockey: Raiders rally, edge Raptors 3-2 in St. Paul

Cretin-Derham Hall rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat East Ridge 3-2 in overtime Tuesday in St. Paul. 

Paige Voight’s second goal of the game came at the 5-minute mark of overtime on the power play to give the Raiders (8-4, 6-2 SEC) a comeback victory.

The Raptors (7-5, 4-4 SEC) took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Katherine Scheibner 1:16 into the game and a goal from Jessica Hammer at the 6:56 mark.

Voight didn’t waste much time getting Cretin-Derham Hall back in the game with a goal 16 seconds into the second period. Jordan Hansen tied the game at the 11:11 mark to conclude a strong second period. The Raiders outshot East Ridge 11-3 in the second and 28-21 for the game.

Erin Cheatham made 25 saves for the Raptors.

East Ridge will face Moose Lake Area Dec. 30 in the Schwan Cup in Blaine.
