East Ridge girls golf: Raptors send four girls to day No. 2, but no one to state
The East Ridge girls golf team had four individuals qualify for day two of the Section 3AAA tournament, held Friday, June 3, at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, however, the season came to an end as none advanced to state.
Based on their scores from day one, East Ridge's Ashley Lehner, Molly Richardson, Celina Spencer and Taylor Anderson each advanced to day two of the Section 3AAA Tournament.
As a team, East Ridge scored a 374 on the first day of the section tournament to take sixth place out of 12 teams, failing to qualify for the second day. However, in addition to the top five teams, the top 10 individuals not on those teams make it to Day No. 2.
"This is an awesome accomplishment for the individuals," East Ridge head coach Brad Rekstad said. "This has been a great year for the team with many great experiences throughout the season."
For East Ridge on day No. 1 of sections, held Tuesday, June 1, at Phalen Golf Course in St. Paul, Lehner led the way with an 89, followed by Richardson (90), Spencer (94), Anderson (101), Andriel Aimua (103) and Lyndsey Garaghty (104).
On Friday at Bunker Hills, Richardson shot a 90, followed by Lehner (94), Spencer (98) and Anderson (108).
Woodury won the Section 3AAA championship on Friday, June 3, at Bunker Hills. Led by senior Mary Sweeney's two-day 159, the Royals scored a 712 two-day total to edge second-place Rosemount's 719.
