East Ridge routed Apple Valley 5-0 Thursday at Cottage Grove Ice Arena. After a scoreless first period the Raptors put 18 shots on goal in the second period and scored four times.

Luke Ringhofer started the scoring in the second period while Ian Penvose, Devin Donohue and Derek Hammer added goals. Penvose later added a power-play goal in the third period.

East Ridge finished with 38 shots for the game, compared to just 13 for the Eagles.

But the Raptors couldn't sustain that offensive punch Saturday in a 5-2 loss to Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul.

East Ridge played without Jack Greeley and Ryan McDonough and looked out of sorts throughout the game.

Cretin-Derham Hall built a 3-1 lead and Hammer got the Raptors to within one with a goal at the 5:19 mark of the third period.

But Cretin-Derham Hall put away a goal five minutes later to build a 4-2 lead when Nick Reis scored his second goal of the game. Reis added his third goal with 27 seconds left on an empty net goal.

Nick Leach scored in the second period to tie the game at 1-1 before Cretin scored the game's next two goals in the period.

Tyler Guck made 29 saves in net for the Raptors.

East Ridge faces White Bear Lake Tuesday in Woodbury.
