After going on a torrid streak to begin the season, the Raptors found themselves on a recent skid, having lost four of their past five games.

The latest loss came Friday against Stillwater, who topped East Ridge 1-0.

Suburban East Conference competition has proved stiff of late for the Raptors. Mounds View dropped East Ridge 5-2 one day after the Raptors lost 4-2 at home against Forest Lake.

East Ridge coach Brian Sprout said problems on both sides of the ball spelled doom following the Mounds View loss.

"Offensively we did nothing," he said. "We made several errors on defense that cost us the game."

According to statistics through the Mounds View game, Ryan Betz led the team offensively, with a .462 batting average and 12 runs scored. He was followed by Jack Leviska, who compiled a .406 batting average and led the team in RBI, with nine.

Eric Alsides topped all East Ridge pitchers with 19 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched. Mark Langrebe was the team's wins leader, with three in six appearances.

East Ridge's record stood at 7-3 overall (5-3 conference) after the Stillwater game. The Raptors were playing .500 baseball at home, yet posted an impressive 5-0 road record.

East Ridge swept rival Woodbury on Monday in a 6-1 home win. Stats from that game were not available as of press time.

The Raptors take on Hastings today and close out the week with White Bear Lake.
