Eagles split in Monday night tips

The New Life Academy basketball teams split their respective Minnesota Christian Athletic Association Monday night contests with Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity, with the Lady Eagles prevailing, while the boys cagers fell.

Already regaining their .500 record in MCAA play, the New Life girls re-acquired a break-even overall mark at 9-9 with a 42-33 win at Lester Prairie as Danielle Schmidt scored a game-high 27 points and Cara Lutes notched 13 points. The victory improved the Eagles conference mark to 4-3.

The NLA boys club dropped its home contest against LP/WHT, 75-52, to fall to 6-11 overall and 3-5 in MCAA play. Alex Heiser led the hosts with 14 points.
