The New Life Girls tennis team opened up its 2010 season with a 2-0 record after victories over St. Paul Highland Park and Trinity School at River Ridge.

"We have a young team with vigor and drive," Lutes said.

No. 1 singles player Cara Lutes outlasted Trinity's Amy Mulvey in a three-set, three-and-a-half hour match (6-7, 7-5, 7-5) to clinch the team victory after No. 4 singles player Kylie Falteisek won in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).

In doubles play, the New Life No. 2 doubles tandem of Greta Lehn/Anu Otgonbat won in straight sets, with the No. 3 doubles duo of Laurel Baar/Katie Zinke claiming victory in three sets.
