District 833's teaching/learning director is fourth administrative departure
South Washington County Schools’ point person on curriculum and staff development is the latest administrator to leave the district.
Randi Anderson, who oversees the district’s Teaching and Learning Department, has been hired by the Eden Prairie Public Schools, the district confirmed Tuesday. Anderson will be Eden Prairie’s director of personalized learning and instruction, pending formal approval of the hiring.
Anderson joined School District 833 in August 2012.
She is the fourth cabinet-level administrator to resign in about a month. Assistant superintendents Dave Bernhardson and Keith Ryskoski are leaving at the end of June. Finance Director Aaron Bushberger also is leaving; he’s taking a similar job in South St. Paul Public Schools.
In addition, the superintendent's former assistant, Mary Amidon, signed a resignation agreement last month. Also, School Board member Jim Gelbmann announced he is stepping down in June, due to the workload at his Minnesota House job as well as personal and health concerns.
It is an unusual number of high-level administrative departures. However, Superintendent Keith Jacobus has said employment changes are expected in the spring, when schools hire for the coming year. He said in a YouTube video response to the earlier resignations that any speculation of problems in the district is "not accurate."
