Disciplining like a teacher
Community Education of South Washington County School District 833 will present "Classroom Discipline in the Home" for parents of children from infant to grade 3 on Tuesday, April 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in room A133 at Cottage Grove Junior High School, 9775 Indian Blvd. The cost is $15.
According to organizers, if you've "ever wondered how a classroom teacher manages 28 children all by herself" when "you can't seem to manage your two," this offering is for you.
Participants will learn the ten components of classroom discipline you will be able to use right away to bring peace and order to your home and create an environment where your children will thrive.
Topics will include: structures and routines, rules and consequences, consistency (building trust), organization, planned activities, child development knowledge, providing a model, offering choices, being firm and kind, and displaying patience.
