Dayton takes budget message around Minnesota

ST. PAUL -- Gov. Mark Dayton hits the road this week in an effort to convince Minnesotans that it is worth shutting down state government to get a better budget from the Republican-controlled Legislature.

Also, the Democratic-Farmer-Laborite governor on Monday said he would consider increasing alcohol and cigarette taxes, and broaden the state sales tax, if Republicans propose those measures.
