County attorney: Staff 'maxed out'
Washington County Attorney Doug Johnson's office is in the middle of a murder case, which requires inordinate staff time and paid experts.
The attorney said that case is part of a burgeoning work load throughout his office. The lean staff cannot handle much more, he said.
"If we get 2 or 3 more murder cases, we're just not prepared for it," Johnson told county commissioners.
As he laid out his 2010 budget proposal Tuesday, Johnson warned the County Board that his office is stretched thin.
"We're maxed out," he said.
