Community gathering tonight in Woodbury in response to recent death
Woodbury Minnesota 8420 City Centre Drive 55125

A community gathering will be held Thursday night in Woodbury following the death of a Lake Middle School student.

The event -- "A Safe Place to Talk - Together it Gets Better"  -- will be held at 7 p.m. at Woodbury Community Church, 2975 Pioneer Drive.

In a District 833 announcement, the event is listed as being "in recognition of the very recent loss of students in our school community." Eighth grader Allison Trebesch died Tuesday; the circumstances surrounding her death have not been made public. The 13-year-old's death followed the death of an Oltman Middle School student who died by suicide in May.

The event will involve mental health professionals facilitating small groups of adults, teens and children who "need an opportunity to talk through their experiences of loss," according to the district announcement.
