NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS FOR
2009 Roadway Rehabilitation Project Queens Drive, Sandlewood and Alderwood Drive
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota will meet at the Woodbury City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road in said city on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. to hear and pass upon all objections, if any, to the proposed assessments in respect to the 2009 Roadway Rehabilitation Project - Queens Drive, Sandlewood and Alderwood Drive.
The proposed assessment roll is now on file with the City Clerk and open to public inspection by all interested therein. The general nature of said improvement is for utility and street base improvements and affects the following described property lying and being in the City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota described as follows, to-wit:
All parcels located adjacent to Queens Drive, between Guider Drive and Afton Road; all within the west half of Section 8, Township 28, Range 21, City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota.
All parcels located within the Sandlewood Addition and Sandlewood Second Addition; all within the north half of the northeast quarter of Section 7, Township 28, Range 21, City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota
Units 1 through 56, Condo 30 Alderwood; Lots 2 through 11, Block 1, Oakwood Forest; and Lots 2 through 41, Block 1, Woodbury Woods First Addition; all within the west half of the southwest quarter of Section 6, Township 28, Range 21, City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota
The total amount of the assessment proposed is $601,725.40. The area proposed to be assessed is every lot, piece, and parcel of land benefited by said improvement, based upon benefits received.
Written or oral objections will be considered. No appeal may be taken unless a written, signed objection is filed with the City Clerk prior to the assessment hearing or presented to the presiding officer at the hearing. Appeals to said assessment may be made upon serving of Notice of Appeal upon the Mayor or City Clerk within thirty (30) days after the adoption of the assessment and also filing said Notice with the District Court within ten (10) days after service upon Mayor or the City Clerk.
You are also advised the Minnesota Statutes Section 435.193 - 435.195 provides that any property owner whose property is classed as homestead who is 65 years of age or older or retired by virtue of a permanent and total disability for whom it would be a hardship to make the payments may apply to the City Council for deferment of said assessment. This deferment is discretionary with the Council.
