CITY OF WOODBURY NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS FOR
2014 Roadway Rehabilitation Project - Evergreen and Whispering Pines Neighborhoods, Currell Boulevard (Queens Drive to Bielenberg Drive) and Tamarack Road (Radio Drive to Spring Hill Drive)
CITY OF WOODBURY, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota will meet at the Woodbury City Hall, 8301 Valley Creek Road in said city on Wednesday, June 25th , 2014 at 7:30 p.m. to hear and pass upon all objections, if any, to the proposed assessments in respect to the 2014 Roadway Rehabilitation Project - Evergreen and Whispering Pines Neighborhoods, Currell Boulevard (Queens Drive to Bielenberg Drive) and Tamarack Road (Radio Drive to Spring Hill Drive).
The proposed assessment roll is now on file with the City Clerk and open to public inspection by all interested therein. The general nature of said improvement is for utility and street base improvements and affects the following described property lying and being in the City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota described as follows, to-wit:
Evergreen and Whispering Pines Neighborhoods
All parcels within the south half of the southeast quarter of Section 5, the northeast quarter of Section 8, and the west half of Section 9, Township 28N, Range 21W, City of Woodbury, County of Washington, State of Minnesota that have direct driveway or private street access to Pinehurst Road, Donegal Drive, Donegal Alcove, Donegal Bay, Somerset Road, Somerset Alcove, Somerset Circle, Somerset Court, Somerset Knoll, Galway Road, Galway Circle, Shannon Drive, Shannon Alcove, Shannon Court, Kenilworth Drive, Kenilworth Court, Waterford Road, Belmont Drive, Tamberwood Trail, Tamberwood Echo, Tamberwood Alcove, Tamberwood Court, Nature Path, Nature Court, Emerald Lane, Glenbeigh Court, Glenbeigh Knoll, Glenbeigh Place, Wexford Way, Wexford Court, or Kelly Lane.
Currell Boulevard (Queens Drive to Bielenberg Drive)
All parcels within the north half of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 8, Township 28N, Range 21W, City of Woodbury, County of Washington, State of Minnesota that have frontage immediately adjacent to Currell Boulevard from Queens Drive to Bielenberg Drive.
Tamarack Road (Radio Drive to Spring Hill Drive)
All residential parcels within the southeast quarter of Section 4, Township 28N, Range 21W, City of Woodbury, County of Washington, State of Minnesota that have direct driveway or private street access to Tamarack Road, from Radio Drive to Spring Hill Drive, and all commercial properties within the southeast quarter of Section 4, Township 28N, Range 21W, City of Woodbury, County of Washington, State of Minnesota that have frontage immediately adjacent to Tamarack Road, from Radio Drive to Spring Hill Drive.
The total amount of the assessment proposed is $2,695,591.32. The area proposed to be assessed is every lot, piece, and parcel of land benefited by said improvement, based upon benefits received.
Written or oral objections will be considered. No appeal may be taken unless a written, signed objection is filed with the City Clerk prior to the assessment hearing or presented to the presiding officer at the hearing. Appeals to said assessment may be made upon serving of Notice of Appeal upon the Mayor or City Clerk within thirty (30) days after the adoption of the assessment and also filing said Notice with the District Court within ten (10) days after service upon Mayor or the City Clerk.
You are also advised the Minnesota Statutes Section 435.193 - 435.195 provides that any property owner whose property is classed as homestead who is 65 years of age or older or retired by virtue of a permanent and total disability for whom it would be a hardship to make the payments may apply to the City Council for deferment of said assessment. This deferment is discretionary with the Council.
