The Woodbury Community Church Children's Ministry Department will present the Christmas musical, "The Present is the Future," at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. The 6 p.m. performance will be followed by a dessert reception in the church fellowship hall.
The musical is free and open to all.
Inspired by the board game, "Clue," the musical follows a group of kids as they search to find the answer to a Christmas riddle presented to them by a mysterious host. Cast members will keep the audience laughing as they navigate a house of mysteries. As the children move through these rooms, they learn that their fears, desires and insecurities are similar to those from Bible times. Each room highlights the struggle of the individual character and relates that struggle to a part of the Christmas story. The clues explain how the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ can give us identity, relationship, joy, security, forgiveness, knowledge and hope for our future. The children begin to understand that the "present" of Christ, if they will accept it, is the gift of a hopeful future.
