Charlie Brown and friends are coming to town
A cheery white dog, a little yellow bird and a confirmed worrier are the newest students at Lake Junior High School.
That's because the school is staging a production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" this week, starring those Peanuts favorites of Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown and the rest of the crew.
Students and staff alike have been rehearsing intensively for curtain-up, which will take place Thursday, March 13 to 500 kids from Red Rock Elementary School.
At 7:30 p.m. that evening, and Friday and Saturday, the performance will be repeated in Lake's cafetorium for the benefit of parents, fellow students, friends and members of the public who wish to attend.
"I don't want people to walk away and say, 'That was a good show for junior high,' I want them to walk away and say, 'That was a good show'," said Robin Bartell, an English and theater teacher who has been co-producing the show with music director Gillian Teoh.
Tickets cost $4 for adults and $2 for students, and will go on sale before the performance each evening at 6:45 p.m.
