Charges filed against former Woodbury jewelry store manager
Woodbury Minnesota 8420 City Centre Drive 55125

A former Woodbury jewelry store manager makes his first court appearance this week on allegations that he stole thousands in jewelry and cash from his employer.

Jeremy Jerome Manos, 36, Burnsville, was charged late last year with one count of theft by swindle, a felony.

According to a criminal complaint, police were first alerted to the allegations in October 2013 when officials at Kay Jewelers on Valley Creek Plaza reported that a manager had stolen cash and merchandise.

Police arrived to find Manos accompanied by the store’s district manager and a loss prevention manager. Manos admitted to stealing an Aug. 14, 2013, cash deposit for $4,133, according to the complaint.

He also allegedly admitted to stealing $41,902 worth of jewelry between 2012 and 2013.

The complaint states Manos confessed to police that he stole at least 55 pieces of jewelry from the store. Some of the stolen merchandise was sold to friends, while other items were pawned, the complaint states.

The complaint outlines “a significant pawn history” for Manos that included 103 items being pawned between 2012 and 2013.

Manos makes his initial appearance in Washington County District Court on Thursday, Feb. 20.
