Challenge met by WCF
The Woodbury Community Foundation (WCF) has met a $20,000 challenge set out by the Bailey Nurseries Foundation to raise both operating and endowment funds.
The Bailey Nurseries Foundation has donated $20,000 to the WCF endowment to complete a challenge made to the WCF Board of Directors. This gift will establish a legacy for future community needs in Woodbury as determined by new guidelines, including human services, the arts and the environment.
"The Woodbury Community Foundation is making significant progress toward its goals of building an endowment to meet the future needs of all of the citizens of Woodbury," said Gordon Bailey, board chair of the Bailey Nurseries Foundation. "We are pleased to recognize and support their long-term commitment to this community and look forward to partnering with them again in the future."
One of Bailey Nurseries Foundations core values is dedication. Its mission statement reaffirms that it "conduct business with integrity in the nursery industry and in our community."
The Woodbury Community Foundation was established in 2003 "to connect people and organizations with causes that matter in order to strengthen our community for the benefit of all."
To achieve the greatest impact, the WCF targets its grants toward specific areas. These currently include meeting the social service needs of its citizens, enhancing their health and safety, and beautifying Woodbury.
Grants are given once a year to those organizations serving the community of Woodbury.
