Century Ave. south of Willow Lane to close June 8
A partial closure of Century Avenue will take place from Monday, June 8 to early July, Ramsey County officials said.
Contract workers will be excavated poor soil from the road south of Willow Lane near the Lutheran Church of Peace.
Danner Inc., the company in charge of the soil excavation along that stretch of Century Avenue, will be conducting work six days a week at the site until it is finished, Ramsey County public works officials said.
The detour for the route will utilizing Upper Afton Road, McKnight Road and Lower Afton Road.
Utilities work will be conducted in the project area during the excavation process as well.
Construction on the current phase of the project, which began in mid-April, has slowed traffic along Century Avenue and Valley Creek Road, especially during peak times, Ramsey County officials said.
While one lane in each direction of Century Avenue and Valley Creek Road will be maintained for the majority of the construction time, significant traffic delays are expected to continue over the next several weeks.
