Broadway Dreams workshop announces guest instructors

The upcoming Broadway Dreams workshop at East Ridge High School has announced the three guest instructors -- Craig Burns, Paul Canaan and Dave Barrus.

Broadway Dreams is a non-profit organization that offers theater workshops to aspiring actors in the forms of acting, dancing and singing with the help of professional Broadway performers who will provide feedback and lessons.

The three guest instructors have extensive experience on Broadway and a wide range of insight to offer students.

Burns, a casting director, has worked on "Wicked," "Hairspray," and the film "Across the Universe." The second guest instructor, Canaan, has appeared in such performances as "Thoroughly Modern Millie," La Cage Aux Folles, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," and "Miss Saigon."

The third instructor, Barrus, co-founder of Broadway Dreams, will be the vocal coach for the workshop. Barrus has worked on "Les Miserables," "Chess," "Jesus Christ Superstar," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Broadway Dreams will be Feb. 6-7 on the Loft Stage at ERHS. Cost for the individual workshops is $95, or students can do all three workshops for $380. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the audition workshop Feb. 7.
