Boys golf: Wolfpack, Raptors, Royals square off
The three District 833 boys golf teams -- East Ridge, Park and Woodbury -- teed off twice last week in two Suburban East Conference matches.
The teams started the week at the par-72 Forest Hills in Forest Lake on Monday, May 16. Park led the district squads with a fifth-place 326 at the nine-team tournament. Woodbury shot a 333 to take seventh and East Ridge carded a 345, earning eighth.
East Ridge's Tyler Fitzsimmons led the Raptors in the match with an 83. Logan Delaney carded an 86 and Tom Tuohy and Jake Winbush each shot 88s to round out the Raptors' top four. Individual results for Park and Woodbury were not made available.
On Thursday, May 19, the three teams journeyed to St. Paul's Highland National, a par-72. Forest Lake earned second place at the match with a 307. Woodbury shot a 313 to finish in seventh place, two spots of eighth-place Park, which carded a 315.
Delaney had East Ridge's top score on the day, turning in an 81. Brady Hanson shot an 84, Michael Pakkala shot an 85 and Jack Caron carded an 86 to round out the Raptors' top four. Individual results for Park and Woodbury were not made available.
The three teams hit the course on Tuesday, May 24, at Hastings Country Club, after the Bulletin went to press, for the season's final regular-season conference match. Next, is day No. 1 of the SEC Conference Tournament on Wednesday, May 25, at Keller Golf Course.
