Books needed for literacy program
Donita Stepan, literacy coach at Woodbury Junior High School, invites the community to participate in the school's Book Exchange, a program to encourage reading in all students.
The school is accepting donations of books appropriate for Kindergarten through high school aged readers Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Tuesday, May 19, in the foyer of the school building, 1425 School Drive.
Books may be donated (with no exchange), or may be exchanged for one ticket per book which can be redeemed at the exchange event Wednesday, May 20 through Friday, May 22 from 8 to 3 p.m.
Students at the school who participate in the event will also be able to exchange at the same rate. However any student who is unable to swap will still be able to receive books.
Books remaining after the exchange event are used to increase classroom libraries at area schools and the remainder held for the next year's event.
Questions may be directed to Stepan at (651) 768-4589 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
