Book donations and swappers needed
Donita Stepan, literacy coach at Woodbury Junior High School, invites the community to participate in the school's Book Exchange, a program to encourage reading in all students.
The school is accepting donations of books appropriate for Kindergarten through high school-aged readers on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the end of the day Tuesday, May 19. Donations will be accepted in the foyer of the building, 1425 School Drive.
Books may be donated with no exchange, or may be exchanged at a rate of one ticket per donated book, and may be redeemed at the exchange event Wednesday, May 20 through Friday, May 22 from 8 to 3 p.m.
Students at the school participating in the event will also be able to exchange at the same rate. However any student who is unable to swap will still be able to receive books.
Books remaining after the exchange event are used to increase classroom libraries, while some are held for the next year's event.
Questions may be directed to Stepan at (651) 768-4589 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
