Ambassador royalty wanted
The Woodbury Ambassadors Royal Family is now taking applications for the 2008-09 Ambassadors Scholarship Program.
Every summer in connection with Woodbury Days, Woodbury seeks new Ambassadors.
The Ambassadors represent Woodbury at community parades, festivals, Woodbury city events and Woodbury business grand openings. The Ambassadors also perform charitable work to help make a difference in our community.
Miss Woodbury Ambassadors candidates must attend school or live in Woodbury and must be entering their senior year of high school or pursuing secondary education (Fall 2008).
Miss Woodbury and Miss Woodbury Princesses are eligible to receive a non-renewable, educational scholarship the year following her reign.
Little Miss Woodbury Ambassadors candidates must attend school or live in Woodbury and must be entering second, third or fourth grade (Fall 2008).
Woodbury Senior King and Senior Queen Ambassadors candidates must be Woodbury residents over the age of 50 as of Aug. 25, 2008.
The mission of the Ambassadors is to make a difference in the community, encourage the development and education of young women and foster relationships with people of all ages.
They are chosen following a month-long candidacy of interviews, community service events, and volunteering with the Woodbury Days Council at the Woodbury Days events.
Ambassadors are selected based on communication and interpersonal skills, volunteering, service efforts and leadership abilities. Ambassadors will experience many new opportunities, gain new friendships, learn about their city and surrounding communities and develop their people skills. Coronation is Aug. 25.
