Alternative gift fair
The 2008 Alternative Gift Fair at the Woodbury campus of Woodbury/Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church will be held Sunday Nov. 16 between the Sunday worship services held at 8:45, 10, and 11:15 a.m.
Alternative giving is a form of gift giving where the donor, instead of buying a gift for the recipient, makes a donation to a charitable organization in the recipient's name.
This Christmas season, the Alternative Gift Fair offers an opportunity to support five different projects that will honor the people you love while benefiting the following organizations/projects: Heifer International - animals and plants that enrich and sustain life for families and villages across the globe; NothingButNets - send a net, save a life, an anti-malaria initiative of the United Methodist Church; Feed My Starving Children - providing life-saving nutrition to children around the world, especially Jamaica and Haiti; International Child Care (ICC) - Literacy training, vaccinations for children, rehabilitation services for the disabled in Haiti and the Dominican Republic; God's Closet - Bibles for guests dealing with life struggles and seeking a life-giving relationship with God.
The church is located at 7465 Steepleview Road, Woodbury. For more information, contact the church office at (651) 738-0305. The Alternative Gift Fair will also be held at the Peaceful Grove Campus, 8600 90th Street S., Cottage Grove, on Sunday, Nov. 23.
