The School District 833 Community Education "South Washington Senior Center," Cottage Grove, hosts many ongoing activities for seniors. Senior Center membership costs $10 per year.

Regularly scheduled events are held at the Center with the exception of bowling which is held at the Park Grove Lanes, St. Paul Park.

The schedule includes:

Bingo - Mondays, 1 p.m.; Recycle Cards - first Monday, 9:30 a.m.; Book Club - second and fourth Tuesday, 1 p.m.; Pinochle - Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.; Quilters - Tuesday, 1 p.m.; Mah-Jongg - Tuesday, 12:30 p.m.; Lighten UP! - Tuesday, 9:15 a.m.; Exercise Classes - Tuesday and Thursday, 9:45 a.m.; Bowling - Wednesday, 9 a.m. at Park Grove Lanes; Cribbage - Wednesday, 1 p.m.; Advisory Council - first Thursday, 9 a.m.; Music Jam - Thursday, 2:30 p.m.; Men's Nite - Thursday, 6:30 p.m.; Bunco - first and third Friday of the month at 9:30 a.m.; Euchre - Friday, 9:30 a.m.; and "500" Cards - Friday, 1 p.m. A pool table is available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lunch is available by reservation, weekdays at noon.

The Center, located at the District Program Center, 8400 East Point Douglas Road South, Cottage Grove, serves the Cottage Grove, Woodbury, St. Paul Park and Newport communities. They are closed for the holiday, but will re-open Monday, Jan. 4.
