The Royals have seven seniors and five juniors this season. The bulk of the roster will come from underclassmen with a dozen sophomores and freshmen, each.

Woodbury does have two athletes returning this season after competing at the state meet last season.

In the girls state meet, the Royals’ 400-meter relay team advanced to state, but didn’t reach the finals, taking sixth in its heat with a time of 50.11 seconds. That quartet comprised of the now-graduated Wakpor Ighovojah and Lisa Huska, but will bring back senior Aleah West and junior Taylor Lundin.

Woodbury sophomore Taylor Raines returns this season after she took 13th place in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 11 inches. Raines punched her card to state with a second-place jump of 16 feet, 3.75 inches at the section meet.

Although Woodbury graduated two of its legs in the 400-meter relay team, the Royals return five athletes who qualified for the finals at the section meet last season.

West finished sixth in the 100 in the section finals, Raines made the section finals in the 200 and finished fifth. Junior Christina Doherty qualified for the section finals in the 400 and finished seventh. Freshman Maria Versaguis qualified for the finals of the triple jump and placed 10th. Senior Allyson Rock made the finals in the shot put and finished ninth.
