Woodbury Community Foundation looking for participants for 'Citizen's Academy' program

The Woodbury Community Foundation is looking for residents to participate in the community's first-ever "Citizen's Academy" program.

The goal of the program is to expand the knowledge of citizens in a way that encourages more involvement in the community.

Program organizers said citizens participating in the "Citizen's Academy" will gain an understanding of how local public, private and nonprofit sectors work in their respective areas, as well as in unison, to make the city a positive place to reside.

The program is limited to the first 25 participants. Applications will be available beginning in December at the WCF Web site:

The 10 session-program will be held Thursday, beginning Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Meetings will be held at various locations in the city.

Woodbury Community Foundation volunteer Marisa Novak is coordinating the program and worked with WCF executive director Alisa Rabin Bell and Woodbury city administrator Clint Gridley in designing the program.
