Cedar Pet offers bite prevention

Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo is offering dog bite prevention workshops for children in grades K- 6.

The clinic sent staffer Kirstin Reiss for special training in the program, which was developed by the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association in cooperation with the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.

It teaches children how to safely approach and pet a dog, what is "safe" around a dog, and basic dog body language.

The thirty-minute program will be held at Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo, 11051 Stillwater Blvd. in Lake Elmo in the afternoon of Saturday, May 9.

Various times are available, but space is limited. The class is free.
